I will be heading to N.Y.C. over Labor Day Weekend for a short stay. I am staying at a new location for me. I will be heading up to Yankee Stadium to watch the Blue Jays. The Yankees are six out of six for the the last six games I attended there. I was looking at Del Monicos Restaruant to possibly go to but don't know if I'll have the time.

My last day in N.Y.C. over the 4th of July weekend I had breakfast at the top of Beekman Tower. It was beautiful. Sitting there next to me was a family. The parents were probably in their 50's and their son was in his early 20's. The son, I believe, was a business major interning at a bank. It was hard not to hear the conversation among them. the son was very negative in the way he was addressing his parents. The folks were almost apologetic to me as they knew I was definitely in earshot of what was being said. I would venture to say that they were probably supporting his way through school. I almost commented (but did not) to the son that his attitude and demeanor with his folks probably transferred to where he was interning as well as life in general. In the job market the way it is, negativity is probably not an asset in applying for a position.

I just visited N.Y.C. over the Fourth of July weekend. On Sunday I went to Coney Island for the Hot Dog Eating contest. Then I met my friend from California at Yankee Tavern on 161st St. in the Bronx. I later went to the Macy's Fireworks Show on the Hudson. This was followed up by a trip to Beekman Tower on 49th St. It was a great time. Only in New York.

I was sin NYC last week. The weather was beautiful. We visited the Metropolitan Musium of Art on Fifth Avenue and 81st Street. We visited the Bronx to see, of course, Yankee Stadium. The demolition is progressing of the Old Stadium. We found a new Greek restaurant around 45th St. and Vanderbilt around Grand Central Station. The food was great as was the hospitality. We ended the trip visiting the top of Beekman Tower at 49th and First. I've been going up there now since 1980. It's a great view of the City.

I recently visited NYC over Christmas week. The City was beautiful after the snowfall. Central Park was fantastic. The windows at Lord and Taylor were beautiful. These windows have been a tradition for decades. I visited The Bronx and stopped at Yankee Stadium. It's sad to see the demolishing of the Old Stadium. My first game up there was a double-header against the White Sox. I believe on June 28, 1967. The Yanks won both games.

We went down to Little 12th Street off Ninth Avenue in Chelsea for dinner. The steak house was in an old building and was quite trendy. The financial district and Foley Square were great to walk around. We walked the Brooklyn Bridge and walked from Borough Hall down to the Long Island Rail Road on Flatbush and Atlantic Avenues. My pop use to walk that trek over fifty years ago.

Trump Tower, Tiffany's, Trinity Church and Macy's, Little Italy and Katz's and Orchard St. on the Lower East Side were other great points of interest.
